Police Blotter: Aug. 30 and Aug. 31

The following arrest information was supplied by the City of Fairfax Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Vandalism

  • Aug. 30, 1:25 a.m. A citizen reported that someone had broken a car window in the  parking lot, located at 10327 Fairfax Blvd. 
  • Aug. 29, 1:32 p.m. An employee at reported that someone had scratched off the paint from two new cars sometime between Aug. 26 and Aug. 28.

Larceny

  • Aug. 30, 1:54 a.m. A contractor at , located at 10325 Fairfax Blvd., reported to police that someone stole a spool of copper wiring sometime after Aug. 18. The spool was located in an unsecured storage area in the restaurant. 
  • Aug. 25, 5:58 p.m. A woman reported to police that her wallet was stolen from the counter of an establishment located at 10400 Main St. sometime between 2:30 p.m and 3:40 p.m. on the same day.
  • Aug. 30, 11:57 a.m. A woman reported to police that someone stole money, medicine and a food stamp card from her unlocked car sometime between 9:15 a.m. 10:30 a.m. Her car was parked on the 10600 block of Jones Street.

  • Aug. 30, 7:24 p.m. A resident of the 10700 block of Oak Street reported to police that she received a call from an unknown person who advised that she had won $2 million and a new car and that she needed to send a money order to receive the prizes. According to the daily police bulletin issued by the Fairfax City Police Department, "The resident advised she had not entered any sweepstakes and did not forward the money. When contacted by a police officer, the subject who had made the call was uncooperative."
