Police: Arrests Made in Bike Theft, Fair City Mall Begging

Latest crime news:

  • Vandalism, 3900 block of Lyndhurst Drive: A woman contacted police after noticing three scratches in the paint on her vehicle parked on Lyndhurst Drive. She said the scratches weren't there before 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 7.
  • Unlawful Begging, Fair City Mall: Ronald Alan Smith, 59, of Alexandria was issued a summons for begging. An officer saw him allegedly ask people for money in the Fair City Mall parking lot at around 2 p.m. on Aug. 8.
  • Larceny, 4100 Block of Sherwood Street: Miguel Angel Alarcon, 21, of Virginia Street was arrested and charged with petit larceny and drunk in public at around 3 a.m. on Aug. 9. An officer saw him allegedly steal a bicycle from the front lawn of a home on Sherwood Street.
