Office Destroyed in Auto Shop Blaze

Firefighters responded to a fire early Wednesday morning.

Fairfax City firefighters battled a blaze in an auto body shop early Wednesday morning. The shop's office was destroyed.

The fire started before 3 a.m. at 3165 Campbell Drive. Firefighters arrived to see flames in the office part of the auto body shop with smoke apparent in the shop, said Battalion Chief Mark Ciarrocca of the City of Fairfax Fire Department.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the office part of the building, though the damage to that portion was considered a "total loss," Ciarrocca said. The bay area only suffered smoke damage.
