Police Raid Moore St. Home, Charge Men with Selling Marijuana

Neighbors were shocked when police searched the home.

Moore Street residents were surprised when police cruisers and officers amassed on a neighbor's house in December, but only until recently have discussed what happened. 

Residents watched for hours as officers carried items out of the home in trash bags on Dec. 15. FCPD served warrants and charged two men with possession and intent to distribute marijuana in mid-April.

  • Joshua Starkweather, 24, was charged with possession of a schedule VI narcotic (a substance, not thought of as a drug, that can be abused recreationally, e.g. nitrous oxide and other inhalants) and possession of a schedule IV narcotic (often medications that aren't as addictive as other drugs, e.g. Valium, Xanax). 
  • Alfred Lescallet, 19, was charged with distribution of ecstasy.

Both were arrested on April 19. They posted bond that night, according to FCPD.

The December search took place after a confidential informant purchased marijuana from a man known as "Alex" twice in November and December, according to the search warrant on file at . Police identified "Alex" as Lescallet.

Police searched the Moore Street home on Dec. 15 and found money, marijuana, assorted paraphernalia, an unknown white powder, grinders and smoking devices in bedrooms belonging to Lescallet and Starkweather. Officers also seized a number of weapons from the home, including a rifle, revolver and shotgun.

"Over the past year we saw shoes strung over the telephone lines at our elementary children's bus stop," said a nearby resident who asked to remain anonymous out of fear of retribution. "People were coming and going from this house at all hours of the day and night."

Fairfax County's Organized Crime Division, Narcotics Section, led the investigation. helped execute the search warrant. 

Lescallet and Starkweather are due in court on June 13.
