Missing Teen Found with Sex Offender in Fairfax

Man, 51, faces fresh charges in Stafford and Fairfax, according to Fairfax City Police.

A missing Stafford County teen was found with a registered sex offender in Fairfax, according to Fairfax City Police.

Paul Tamney, 51, of the 10300 block of Layton Hall Drive, has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor by Stafford County and the City of Fairfax.

On Saturday, Stafford County Sheriff's deputies informed Fairfax Police that a 16-year-old girl that had been missing was with Tamney in his Fairfax home. 

Police say Tamney met the teen online, according to an NBC Washington report, and that he helped her run away from home.

The girl was taken into protective custody and Tamney was arrested and ordered held without bond. 

Fairfax Police are continuing their investigation, according to a release.
