Mirror Pond Drive Resident Burned in Kitchen Fire

County and city firefighters responded.

A Mirror Pond Drive resident suffered moderate burns during a kitchen fire Wednesday afternoon.

Fairfax County and Fairfax City fire departments responded to a fire at 9445 Mirror Pond Drive kitchen fire at around 4:14 p.m., according to Fairfax City Battalion Chief Adrian Munday.

The first unit on the scene, Engine 423, found a small fire on the stove that was mostly out when they arrived. Fairfax City units helped county firefighters make sure the fire was out and hadn't spread to other parts of the home.

One resident of the house was flown to The Washington Hospital by the Fairfax County Police Helicopter with moderate burn injuries.
