Man Flees Police Through Kings Park West Backyards

Evans was charged with speeding, speeding to elude and driving on a suspended license.

Fairfax County police arrested a Gainsborough Drive man on Jan. 25 after he resisted a traffic stop and led police on a short-lived chase.

Police tried to stop Roger Evans after he allegedly sped through the intersection of Braddock and Roberts roads at around 3:40 p.m. At first, Evans refused to stop for the police cruiser that started following him at Roberts Road and Gainsborough Drive, according to Lucy Caldwell of the Fairfax County Police Department's public information office. When he did stop, the suspect got out of his car and fled on foot. He was eventually caught in a Tapestry Lane backyard and brought into custody.
