Man Attacked Near Sager and Main Street

Call police with any tips.

A Herndon man was attacked on a path between Sager Avenue and Main Street on Jan. 23.

The City of Fairfax Police Department said the 26-year-old man was walking in downtown Fairfax City shortly after midnight when he was approached by a man he didn't know. The suspect demanded money from his victim, then struck the Herndon man when he told his attacker he didn't have any.

The victim refused medical treatment.

Police described the suspect as a black man in his 20s, about 180 pounds, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
