Lock Your Car Doors: Three Recent Thefts From Cars, Two Were Unlocked

Fairfax City Police release daily incident report.

Lock those car doors, Fairfax! The Fairfax Police Department's most recent daily crime bulletin notes three thefts from cars in the city between Wednesday, May 14 and Saturday, May 17.

But, the reports note valuables were taken out of two vehicles that had been left unlocked.

On Friday, a vehicle owner reported that someone had stolen the residential parking permit from his unlocked car earlier in the week.

On Saturday, an employee at Brown's Mazda contacted police after finding that an iPad had been stolen from his unlocked car Thursday, May 15.

On Wednesday, a woman reported a theft from her locked car. She'd parked the vehicle overnight in the parking lot at Lifetime Fitness, at 9602 Main Street. When she returned in the morning, her purse had been stolen, containing a diamond ring, cash, a check and identification.
