Lenox Drive Man Dead After 5-Car Crash

He died in a hospital eight days after the crash.

A Fairfax City man died April 11 after in a five-vehicle, chain reaction crash.

Nick Louis Perini, 94, of Lenox Drive died eight days after being caught in the crash on Little River Turnpike and Guinea Road on April 3, according to Fairfax County Police.

Four cars were waiting for traffic to pass in the right lane of Littler River Turnpike. A fifth car, a 1999 Toyota Avalon driven by Praveen Kumar Jarugulla, 23, of Lee Highway in Fairfax, failed to stop in time, hitting the fourth vehicle.

There were six occupants in all five vehicles. Three of them were transported to a local hospital.

Perini's condition deteriorated until he died on April 11.

Jarugulla was charged with reckless driving. Speed and alcohol were not believed to be factors in this crash.
