Graffiti Vandalism, Credit Card Theft and More Scam Phone Calls

The daily crime bulletin from Fairfax City Police.

The following information is provided by the Fairfax City Police Department. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Vandalism 

4100 Block of Oxford Lane – On July 12 at 4:03 PM the vehicle owner reported that sometime after 11:30 PM on July 11 unknown person(s) had broken a window on his parked vehicle.

9600 Main Street / Ulta – On July 13 at 10:20 AM a property manager for the shopping center reported that sometime after 7:00 PM on July 12 unknown person(s) had painted graffiti on the window of the business. 

Credit Card Fraud 

10702 Fairfax Boulevard / Panera – On July 13 at 6:20 PM the victim reported that sometime between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM while she was at the restaurant unknown person(s) had removed her wallet from her purse. The wallet contained cash, identification and a credit card which subsequently was used to make unauthorized purchases.

4100 Block of Lexington Court / 10200 Block of Rodgers Road – On July 14 at 7:59 PM and 8:11 PM the residents reported receiving telephone calls from a male subject identifying himself as a lieutenant with the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office and stating either that a warrant had been obtained or driver’s license suspended and the resident should obtain money cards and call back with the numbers. The residents both called police. When an officer called the number provided and identified himself, the male subject said he would send a deputy to meet him, but no one appeared.
