Firefighters Tackle Gas Station Blaze

No one was injured.

Firefighters forced their way into the Shell gas station on Lee Highway early Saturday morning to fight a raging fire from inside the station garage bays.

The City of Fairfax Fire Department arrived at 11175 Lee Highway at 12:30 a.m. to find thick smoke billowing from the front of the gas station building. Firefighters saw heavy fire in one of the three garage bays closest to the station shop, according to Battalion Chief John Ahrens.

They were able to bring the fire under control. The cause of the fire is as of yet unknown.
