Firefighter 5K to Benefit Benevolent Fund

Walkers, runners, stroller-pushers welcome.

Fairfax City firefighters host their annual Benevolent Fund Firefighter 5K on Sunday.

The 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. at Fire Station No. 3 on University Drive in Fairfax City. Arrive early to register and get ready to run or walk or push a stroller — how you go the distance is up to you.

Entry fees cost $25 for preregistered runners and $30 for race-day registrants. Drop by between 1 and 4 p.m. Nov. 3 to pick up your racer's packet.

The raised funds will go to the City of Fairfax Firefighters Benevolent Fund. This fund, started in March 2010, helps firefighters and their families during times of crisis.
