Fire Station Honors Woodson Student

Ethan Ellert's project benefited the station and earned him his Eagle Scout rank.

W.T. Woodson senior Ethan Ellert received a Citizen Recognition Award from  in Fairfax Station for his landscaping project. Battalion Fire Chief Larry Everett recently presented Ellert the award.

"Ethan designed the garden, obtained funds for the plants and materials, recruited and organized 25 volunteers and completed the project prior to the 10 year anniversary of 9-11," said Station 32 Commander Captain Robert Konczal.  "Ethan also provided and dedicated a memorial plaque and bench to the first responders who responded to the terrorist attacks that fateful day," he said.

The project helped Ethan earn his Eagle Scout rank, the highest possible in boy scouts.
