Fairfax Woman Charged in Crash That Killed Clifton Man

The collision came days before another crash killed a young Burke woman at the same intersection.

A Fairfax woman involved in a two-vehicle crash was charged in a Shirley Gate Road crash that killed a Clifton man.

Tiffany Segreti, 27, of Chain Bridge Road, was charged with failing to yield the right of way in the June 28 crash that killed Charles R. Blevins, 64.

The crash came days before another collision at the same intersection killed a young woman from Burke.

Segreti was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Impala when she attempted to make a left turn onto Shirley Gate from Matti Moore Court at around 5:50 p.m. As she entered the intersection, she struck a 2009 GMC Sierra pickup truck, according to Fairfax County Police. The collision pushed the pickup off the road. It went airborne and collided with a street light.

Blevins was taken to the hospital. He succumbed to his injuries on July 1.

Three days later a 21-year-old Burke woman died when the car she was riding in struck two trees in the same stretch of road. Police believe alcohol to be a factor in the July 4 crash. They have made no such connection in the collision that killed Blevins.

Friends and family created a makeshift memorial for Blevins, decorating the broken street light with flowers.
