Fairfax Man Charged with McLean Murder

The attack occurred near the intersection of Old Meadow Road and Route 123 in McLean.

A Falls Church man died Thursday after a Fairfax City man allegedly stabbed him at a psychiatric facility in McLean. 

Mark Shelor, 24, of Maple Trace Circle was charged with murder after a Thursday morning incident at a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services office on Old Meadow Road in McLean. 

Police said both the victim and his attacker were clients at the office that provides day support services for adults with mental illness. The altercation took place outside the building at around 9:30 a.m. Shelor allegedly stabbed Grady Alexander Vickers, a 57-year-old Falls Church man, in the upper body. The victim died after he was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital, said Fairfax County Police spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell.

Officers are still investigating the events leading up to the stabbing as well as the motivation behind the attack.
