Fairfax City Police Log: 52 Missing Aluminum Frames, Vandalism at Hard Times Cafe

The following incidents were reported to the City of Fairfax police between April 1 and 5.

Larceny

3251 Old Lee Highway / Office Building Construction Site – On April 4 at 10:02 AM an employee of Fredericksburg Glass and Mirror, Inc. reported that sometime after December 14, 2012 unknown person(s) had stolen 52 pieces of aluminum frames which were stacked on pallets at the construction site.

Grand Larceny Arrest

9652 Main Street / Best Buy – On February 16 a security officer reported that on February 15 a male subject had been observed taking a laptop computer from the store without paying. As a result of investigation by the Patrol Division, a suspect was identified and a warrant was obtained charging him with grand larceny. On April 3 the suspect was arrested in Rockville by Montgomery County Police. He waived extradition and was returned to Virginia by City of Fairfax Police. Toby Wayne Snyder, 39, of 2 Maple Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where a magistrate ordered him released on personal recognizance pending arraignment in Fairfax Circuit Court on April 5.

 

Prescription Fraud Arrest

4315 Chain Bridge Road / INOVA Access of Fairfax – On March 31 at 7:07 AM a physician reported that a female subject who was seeking pain medication was presenting false identification. As the result of investigation by the Patrol Division, Heather Lee Blow, 31, of 275 Fairview Road, Luray, Virginia, was placed under arrest and transported to the Adult Detention Center where she was charged with trying to obtain medication under false identification, a felony, and her bond was set at $2500.

4200 Block of Ardmore Place – On April 4 at 1:05 AM a taxicab driver reported that an unknown male subject who he had transported from the Vienna Metro Station had gotten out of the cab claiming he had to go to a nearby residence to get money for the fare, and had failed to return. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

10513 Judicial Drive / Robert Whitestone Law Office Parking Garage – On April 2 at 9:32 AM an employee reported that sometime between 12:00 Noon and 5:00 PM on April 1 unknown person(s) had spray painted graffiti on the walls of the garage.

 

Identity Theft

3400 Block of White Oak Court – On April 2 at 5:06 PM the resident reported that sometime between February 1 and April 1 unknown person(s) had filed a false income tax return in his name in an attempt to obtain a refund.

 

Larceny

3910 University Drive / 7-Eleven – On April 2 at 6:32 PM the manager reported that a male subject had taken a bottle of wine from a shelf and concealed it in his pocket, then left the store without paying. An officer located the subject in the area. Spencer Lee Harvey, 51, of no fixed address, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with petit larceny and drunk in public and his bond was set at $1000.

4069 Chain Bridge Road / Hard Times Café Parking Lot – On April 3 at 2:13 AM the vehicle owner reported that sometime after 10:30 PM unknown person(s) had broken a window, scratched the paint and flattened three tires on his parked vehicle.

10300 Block of Sager Avenue – On March 30 at 1:04 PM the resident reported that sometime between December 17, 2012 and January 4 unknown person(s) had taken three pieces of jewelry from her home.

 

Vandalism

3801 Jermantown Road / Sidney Lanier Middle School – On March 31 at 9:45 AM a manager for the contractor maintaining the bio-retention cell at the school reported that about 6:00 PM on March 30 unknown person(s) had driven through the cell causing damage to the installation.

 

Larceny

4080 Jermantown Road / K-Mart – On March 31 at 8:00 PM the victim reported that sometime between 3:30 PM and 6:30 PM unknown person(s) had taken a cell phone which had been left unattended at the store.
