Tuesday fire has been contained; cause unknown, officials say.

Fairfax City Fire Department officials are investigating a Tuesday fire that began at a single-story home on Boxford Court.

Asst. Chief Andy Vita said units were called around 1:43 p.m. to a single-story house fire on the road, a cul de sac near Old Lee Highway.

Firefighters saw a fire at the back of the house when they arrived, Vita said.

Vita said there are no injuries and firefighters believe nobody was home at the time of the blaze.

The fire conditions prevented crews from doing a complete search inside the home, Vita said, something they will do shortly as the fire is extinguished.
