Dogs Allegedly Attack Another Dog and Its Owner

Both are doing fine.

A man was walking his dog near Main Street and Woodland Drive last Friday when two dogs attacked them.

The dogs, which appeared to be pit bulls, began acting aggressively towards the owner's dog, said Sgt. Dan Grimm of the Fairfax City Police Department. They allegedly knocked the owner's dog over and bit it. The dogs also allegedly knocked the owner to the ground, though he was not seriously injured. The owner was able to get control over his dog and take it home.

By the time police arrived at the scene, the owner of the other two dogs had brought them under control and taken them from the area.

The dog that was attacked suffered some lacerations. "From what I understand it's doing fine after being checked out by a vet," said Grimm.

Animal Control is investigating the incident. There's no word on whether any charges have been filed.
