A 19-year-old Fairfax City man had a disturbing tale to relay to police recently.

On June 8 at 10:28 p.m., the man reported that an unknown male attempted to accost him near the intersection of University Drive and Whitehead Street.

Unfortunately, it didn't end there.

The man told police the suspect then followed him all the way to the McDonald's at 3924 Old Lee Highway and into the restroom.

There, the suspect proceeded to punch the victim and attempt to steal his wallet and cell phone.

At that point, an employee of the restaurant entered the restroom, prompting the suspect to flee.

The suspect was described only as a dark-skinned male. Officers said they searched the area but were unable to locate him.

The victim refused medical treatment.

The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the case.
