Crime Report: Fraud Reported

The following incidents were reported to the City of Fairfax Police Department.

Identity Fraud
Someone reported an attempted identity theft to the City of Fairfax Police Department.

At 2:03 p.m. on May 3, a resident on the 10600 block of Oak Place reported to police that since April 30 someone had been trying to get her credit card issuer send her card to an alternate address. A fraudulent charge was also made in the United Kingdom.

Larceny
A man reported that a woman who had been in his hotel room had stolen a debit card to make unauthorized purchases.

The incident was reported to City of Fairfax Police at 12:59 p.m. on Saturday at the Best Western Hotel on 3535 Chain Bridge Road.

Larceny
A laptop and a cell phone were reported stolen from a home.

The incident was reported at 2:48 a.m. on Sunday from a home on the 10800 bock of Fairchester Drive, according to police. Residents told police that men who had accompanied a guest at the home were believed to have stolen the items.

Larceny
A mountain bike was reported from the back of a McDonald’s at 8:52 a.m. on Sunday from the restaurant on 3195 Old Lee Highway, police report.
