Animal Hospital Employee Arrested For Stealing Clients' Credit Cards

Plus, a man is attacked and injured in the restroom of a local restaurant.

A 21-year-old Fairfax woman is under arrest after police allege she was stealing the credit cards of clients at the animal hospital she worked at, and making fraudulent purchases on them.

On Dec. 6, a woman who had done business with the Town and Country Animal Hospital, located at 9836 Fairfax Blvd., called to say she had lost her credit card while at the business the day before, and that it had subsequently been used to make fraudulent purchases.

The manager of the business informed City of Fairfax Police, who launched an investigation.

Police investigators determined that an employee of the hospital was stealing customers' credit cards. 

Philladondra L. Thompson was arrested and charged with felony credit card theft and felony credit card fraud. She was taken to the Adult Detention Center, and later released on a personal recognizance bond.

The following additional incidents were also reported by the City of Fairfax Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Dec. 6 - Identity Theft: A resident of the 3900 block of Oak Street reported that, since May of 2012, someone had used his identifying information to open several charge accounts in his name, and had made unauthorized charges to the accounts in Florida.

Dec. 6 - Larceny: A woman reported that, while she was eating at the Denny's restaurant at 10473 Fairfax Blvd., her wallet was stolen. The wallet contained cash, keys and a debit card.

Dec. 7 - Burglary: Owners of the Royal Gas Station and Mins Auto Shop, located at 10423 Main St., reported that, sometime after 11:30 p.m. the night before, someone had broken into the business and stolen a bunch of tobacco products and calling cards.

Dec. 7 - Interdiction Violation: At 12:45 p.m., officers observed an intoxicated man walking into the roadway at the intersection of Fairfax Boulevard and Spring Street and took him into custody. The 60-year-old transient was transported to the Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with drunk-in-public and consumption of alcohol by an interdicted person (meaning he had previously been convicted of an alcohol-related crime). His bond was set at $2,000.


Dec. 8 - Assault: Just after midnight, a 34-year-old Fairfax City man reported that he had been in the bathroom at Red Zone restaurant, 10560 Main St., when he was punched and kicked from behind. The man received significant injuries and was transported to the hospital.

Dec. 8 - False Pretenses & Assault: A man reported that he had responded to an Internet ad selling a cell phone, and had arranged to meet the seller in the parking lot of the McDonald's at 3951 Pickett Road. He said he met the seller and handed him cash, and the seller handed him a cell phone. However, upon looking at the phone, he said he determined it was not the type of phone he had wanted. When the man asked for his money back, the seller brandished a knife at him and left. The victim was not injured.

Dec. 8 - Larceny: A resident of the 3900 block of Madison Mews reported that someone had stolen a package containing clothing that had been delivered to his doorstep.
