Couch Catches Fire in Richard Avenue Home

Firefighters killed the blaze before it spread.

Firefighters extinguished a small fire in a Richard Avenue home Tuesday night.

Fairfax City Engine 403 arrived to find a couch on fire inside the house. They were able to put the fire out before it extended to other parts of the residence, said Asst. Fire Chief Andy Vita.

One resident was evaluated for smoke inhalation.
