Bomb Threat at One GMU Building

Written note found overnight, according to George Mason University.

Early-morning classes in one building of the George Mason University campus have been cancelled as police investigate a bomb threat.

Classes at 7:30 a.m. in the Art and Design Building on the Fairfax campus have been cancelled as a precaution and the building has been cordoned off. All other classes and events on university campuses will be held as scheduled. 

A written bomb threat was found at the building overnight, according to the school.

"This investigation does not present an immediate danger to the university community," according to a statement on the school's website. "Please remain away from the building and follow the direction of University Police and emergency response personnel."

George Mason University Police are working with local law enforcement and are seeking information about the individual(s) who made this threat; if you have any information about this situation please contact University Police at 703-993-2810.
