Arrest Made in Fatal Hit and Run

Suspect who allegedly killed 62-year-old man apprehended in Washington D.C.

Police arrested a Strasburg, Va. man in connection with the August hit and run death of a 62-year-old man on Fairfax Boulevard.

Metropolitan Police Department officers arrested Malik Tayvon Battle, 22, in Washington D.C. He was transferred into City of Fairfax Police custody Sept. 28.

Battle is charged with striking James Ralph Davidson with his vehicle as Davidson was attempting to cross the road at around 1:15 a.m. Aug. 18. in the 9800 block of Fairfax Boulevard near Draper Drive.

Battle did not stop to aid the victim, police said. Davidson was pronounced dead at the scene.

A hearing has been set for 9:20 am. Oct. 30 in Fairfax County District Court.
