PHOTOS: Driver Cut Out of Car After Wreck on 123 and Eaton

UPDATE (7:15 a.m.): Firefighters had to cut a driver out of a car Wednesday night after a wreck at Route 123 and Eaton Place.

The two-vehicle accident occurred when Lauren Shrem, 26, of Delaplane, Va. allegedly ran a red light. Shrem's 2011 Chevrolet SUV was traveling north on Chain Bridge Road when it broadsided a 2001 Buick sedan making a left turn onto Eaton from the southbound Chain Bridge Road lanes, according to Sgt. Joe Johnson of the .

The Buick driver was taken to Fairfax Hospital with minor injuries.

Shrem was charged with failure to obey a red light.

ORIGINAL: An accident at Route 123 and Eaton Place is drawing emergency personnel and tying up traffic along Fairfax Boulevard.

Patch Editor Lauren Jost drove past the scene just before 10 p.m. She said it appears as though three vehicles were involved. One was on the median, another in the middle of the intersection, and a third on a pole.
