An accident Monday on westbound Fairfax Boulevard near Kamp Washington has been cleared, but traffic lingers from a three-lane shutdown police used to clear the scene.
According to a City of Fairfax emergency alert, the accident shut down three lanes of traffic, leaving only the right lane of the road open. Traffic was backed up through Plantation Parkway.
Though residual traffic is starting to improve, drivers should seek an alternate route, the city says.
