Last Chance for Logo Contest: Think Fast, Think "Freedom, Family, Fairfax"

The deadline is this week for 2014 City of Fairfax Independence Day Celebration logo.

If the large piles of snow have inspired a creative idea for a summertime logo, you're in luck.

The City of Fairfax needs a logo for the 2014 Independence Day Celebration. The new deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 19.

The winner gets $100 and a ride in the parade. Entries will be judged on quality and the relation to this year's theme: “Freedom, Family, Fairfax.”

Here are some helpful rules from Parks and Recreation:

The logo must be kept very simple, not too detailed, with clean bold lines. Refrain from intricate detail. Please keep to larger font sizes. Logo will be placed on white background. Color use is limited to red, blue, gold and black. Keep in mind the logo will be used on t-shirts, baseball caps, advertising material and for the celebration’s program front cover.

Please incorporate the theme name – “Freedom, Family, Fairfax”, “City of Fairfax, VA” and “July 4, 2014” in the artwork.  All artwork should be sized on 4x4 minimum to 8x10 maximum paper.  The artwork can be pencil or pen and ink on white paper.  The entry may also be computer generated using Adobe Illustrator, Quark or similar programs.
