Let’s Move the Needle on Childhood Obesity

For the second year, the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia and Inova Health System have partnered to present “Let’s Move the Needle on Childhood Obesity,” a community convening of stakeholders in Northern Virginia that helps shine a light on the issue of childhood obesity and inspire action to address it.

More than 200 business, school, government, and community leaders are expected to participate in this call to action which aims to move the needle on childhood obesity by actively engaging the Northern Virginia community and sharing best practices on how to encourage more activity and better nutrition for our children. The event will highlight people who are making a difference with programs that work.

Three “Let’s Move the Needle on Childhood Obesity Awards” will be presented at the event.  Chosen from a highly competitive pool of 39 nominees, the three winners will be recognized for the tremendous impact of their programs and the tangible, measureable results they achieve for the children who participate.
