Fly the Fortress: Flights and Ground Tours of EAA's WWII B-17 Bomber!

Chapter 186 of the Experimental Aircraft Association will sell flights and ground tours on EAA's restored World War II B-17 bomber “Aluminum Overcast” Friday-Sunday, October 25-27, 2013 at Manassas Regional Airport. Weather permitting, flights occur in the morning beginning about 8:00 AM and ground tours start about 2:00 PM. The flight experience lasts about an hour with briefing and debriefing, including about 30 minutes airborne. Passengers are encouraged to get up and explore the aircraft and take photos and videos during flight.

If purchased before the plane's arrival at Manassas, tickets are $409 for EAA members, $449 for non-members. On-site prices are $435 for EAA members and $475 for non-members. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. Ground tours are free for veterans and active military, $10 for other individuals, and $20 for a family of four. To reserve your flight in advance, go online at www.b17.org or call 800-359-6217. For on-site flight reservations, call the on-site coordinator at 920-371-2244.  Walk up for ground tours. While the aircraft is on static display, people can walk around outside her and take photos for free. All proceeds keep the plane flying!
