Family Fun Festival and Classic Car Show in Herndon Virginia

Fun Family Activities and a Classic Car Show, a NASCAR
simulator, a Model T surprise and the Historical Depot
Museum are among the many
activities planned. The 2nd Annual Family Fun Festival is in celebration of
National Grandparents Day, the Festival will be filled with fun interaction and
family games, a moon bounce, live performances and craft activities for
children.  The event also includes the
12th Annual Classic Car Show
to benefit the George Mason University Geriatric
Nursing Program Scholarships and sponsored by the Dulles AARP Chapter. A NASCAR
race car will be there with a Track Driving Simulator, as well as a Model T
Ford that will be assembled from parts and driven away. The Family Fun Festival
was born in celebration of Grandparents Day.
In 1978, President Jimmy Carter signed into law the recognition of Grandparents
Day as the first Sunday after Labor Day. The Rotary Club of Herndon supports
this community event, but the event is run by the AARP Dulles Chapter to
benefit the George Mason University Geriatric Nursing Program Scholarships.  The event is from 11am to 3pm, Sunday, September
8.
