Jon Stehle Files for Election for City Council

Election May 6, 2014 for six seats.

On Tuesday March 4, Jon Stehle officially confirmed his candidacy for Fairfax city council.  Stehle was notified by the Registrar's Office that he had fulfilled all the requirements to be on the May 6, 2014 Ballot. He is seeking one of the six seats on city council.

Jon will bring his strategic planning skills to help the city continue on the path of fiscal responsibility while retaining the city’s high quality services.  “I am excited to bring to the voters a choice for the council that will continue to ensure our city maintains its small town atmosphere and remains a top tier place to live for generations to come.  I am eager to work with the mayor and members of the council and will bring energy and perspective to this team,” Stehle said.

Stehle is currently the president of the Board of Directors of Oxford Row Townhome Condominiums, where he led the development of community's strategic plan and increased the transparency of the budget.  He has also served as the President of the American Association for Budget and Program Analysis, where he led the organization through a transformation from a paper to digital organization - resulting in improved member services and a reduction in administrative costs.

Jon is a senior analyst with the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO).  He and his wife Stephanie, a physics teacher at Oakton High School, have lived in the city since 2007.  They have a daughter Zoe and a son Cooper.
