In-Person and By-Mail Absentee Voting Begins Friday

Find out when, where and how eligible voters can vote by absentee for the upcoming Nov. 5 election.

Residents of both the City of Fairfax and the County of Fairfax can begin absentee voting for the upcoming Nov. 5 election beginning this Friday, Sept. 20.

City of Fairfax Residents:

In-person absentee voting begins this Friday, Sept. 20. Voting can be done in person Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Sisson House, located right next door to City Hall at 10455 Armstrong St. Absentee voting will be available on two Saturdays during the same hours - Oct. 26 and Nov. 2.

Absentee ballots will also be sent out in the mail to residents who have applied beginning Sept. 20. Absentee ballots must be received by elections officials by 7 p.m. on election day, Nov. 5.

The deadline to apply to vote by absentee ballot is by mail or fax on Oct. 29 at 5 p.m., or in person by Nov. 2 at 5 p.m.

Fairfax County Residents:

In-person absentee voting begins this Friday, Sept. 20 at the Fairfax County Government Center, Office of Elections, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Suite 323, in Fairfax, as well as seven satellite locations throughout the county.

Voting hours at the Government Center are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Beginning Oct. 15, the hours will be 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. every weekday.

Saturday voting will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Sept. 28 to Nov. 2.

By-mail absentee ballots will be sent out to residents who have applied beginning this Friday, Sept. 20. For your vote to be included, it must be received by the elections office by 7 p.m. on election day, Nov. 5.

Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Monday - Friday: Oct. 15 - Nov. 1
