Utility Work on Old Lee to Close Lanes, Intersection

Drivers might want to rethink a trip along Old Lee, and parts of Main and North tonight.

Utility work on Old Lee Highway at North and Main streets will close an entrance to Main Street Marketplace and may stop traffic for up to 10 minutes at an intersection tonight.

From 8 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m., Dominion Virginia Power will remove overhead power lines and utility poles along Old Lee Highway. Note the following traffic closures during this timeframe:

  • The right lane of westbound Main Streer will be closed from the entrance to Main Street Marketplace to Old Lee Hwy.
  • The right lane of westbound North Street will be closed from the corner with Old Lee Highway for approximately 150 yards.
  • The right lane of northbound Old Lee Highway will be closed just north of the entrance to Main Street Marketplace.
  • Traffic may need to be stopped at the Old Lee Highway/North Street intersection for up to 10 minutes at a time while crews remove overhead utility lines.
