DULLES CORRIDOR METRORAIL PROJECT

Nighttime work - Closures occur between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless otherwise noted.

• Dulles Toll Rd. (Route 267) west from Spring Hill Rd. to Trap Rd. - Three left lanes closed Monday - Friday nights for bridge work. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 15 minutes after midnight.  
• Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east from Beulah Rd. to Trap Rd. - Three left lanes closed Monday - Wednesday nights for bridge work. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 15 minutes after midnight.
• Dulles International Airport Access Hwy. east and west from Leesburg Pike (Route7) to Trap Rd. - Right lane closed Monday - Wednesday nights for bridge work. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 15 minutes after midnight.
• Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east and west at Westwood Center Dr. - Left turn lane closed Tuesday - Thursday nights for station work. Traffic will be directed to follow poster detour signs.
• Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east and west at Spring Hill Rd. - Left turn lanes closed Sunday - Tuesday nights for milling and overlay. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.
• Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east to Dulles Toll Rd. (Route 267) east - Ramp closed Sunday - Friday nights for road work. Traffic will be directed to  continue east, make a U-turn at Tyco Rd. onto Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west and follow signs to Dulles  Toll Rd. (Route 267) east.  
• Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east at Marshall's Dr. -  Multiple single lane closures Monday - Thursday nights for signal work, traffic shift and barrier movement. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 15 minutes after midnight.
• Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north and south at Tysons Blvd. - Left turn lane closed Monday -Thursday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.
• Spring Hill Rd. north and south at Leesburg Pike (Route 7) - Left turn lanes and through lanes closed Sunday - Tuesday nights for milling and overlay.  Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.
• Galleria Dr. west at Tysons Blvd. - Three left turn lanes closed Monday - Thursday nights for station work. Traffic will be directed to follow posted  detour signs.
• Galleria Dr. east at Tysons Blvd. - Right turn lane closed Monday - Thursday nights for station work. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.
• Tysons Blvd. east at Galleria Dr. - Two right lane closed Monday - Thursday nights for station work. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour  signs.
• Dolley Madison Blvd. (Route 123) north at Capital One Dr. - Left turn lane closed Friday and Saturday nights for utility work.

Police will be on site for motorist safety. All closures are weather permitting.

Weekday work - Closures occur between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

• Expect daytime delays in the Tysons Corner area along the Dulles Connector Road (Route 267), Leesburg Pike (Route 7) and Dolley Madison Blvd. (Route 123).

495 EXPRESS LANES PROJECT

Nighttime work - Closures occur between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless otherwise noted.

• I-495 north from Lewinsville Rd. overpass to Old Dominion Dr. overpass - Three left lanes closed Thursday night for overhead sign work. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.
• I-495 south to Exit 45B, Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east - Ramp closed Monday - Thursday nights for bridge painting. Traffic will be directed to continue south to Exit 46B, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north and follow signs to Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east.
• Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east at I-495 - Road closed Monday and Tuesday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to I-495 north to Exit 44, Georgetown Pike (Route 193) west, stay to the left, follow signs to I-495 south and take Exit 45B, Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east.
• Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) west at I-495 - Road closed Monday - Thursday nights for bridge painting. Traffic will be directed to use the Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) west.
• Dulles International Airport Access Hwy. west at I-495 - Ramp closed Monday night for barrier work. Traffic will be directed to I-495 north to Exit 44, Georgetown Pike (Route 193) west, stay to the left and follow signs to I-495 south.
• I-495 north to Exit 45A, Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) west - Ramp closed Monday - Thursday nights for overhead sign work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Exit 44, Georgetown Pike (Route 193) west, stay to the left, follow signs to I-495 south and take Exit 45A, Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) west.
• I-495 north from Exit 46, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) to Exit 45, Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) - Three lanes closed Wednesday night for sign installation. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.
• Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north or south between I-495 to Westpark Dr. overpass - Two right lanes closed Monday and Tuesday nights for utility work.  Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.
• Westpark Dr. at Shop Tysons Blvd. - Road closed Monday night for overhead sign installation. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.
• I-495 south at Exit 47, Leesburg Pike (Route 7) - Three right lanes closed Monday - Thursday nights for bridge work. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.
• I-495 south to Exit 47B, Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east - Ramp closed Wednesday and Thursday nights for traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to take Exit 47A, Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west, make a U-turn at International Dr. onto Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east.
• Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west to I-495 south - Ramp closed Wednesday and Thursday nights for traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to continue west, make a right onto International Dr., make a right onto Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north and follow signs to I-495 south.
• Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east to I-66 west – Ramp closed intermittently for up to 30 minutes after midnight Sunday - Thursday nights for overhead sign installation and utility work.
• I-66 west to I-495 south - Ramp closed Sunday - Thursday nights for paving. Traffic will be directed to continue west to Exit 62, Nutley St. south,  stay to the right, follow signs to I-66 east to I-495 south.
• I-66 west from Exit 67, Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) to Exit 64, I-495 - Single lane closed Sunday - Thursday nights for utility work and traffic shift. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.
• I-66 east general purpose ramp (right exit) or HOV (left exit) to I-495 north - Ramp closed Sunday - Thursday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to use the I-66 east HOV ramp (left exit) or general purpose ramp (right exit) to access I-495 north.
• I-66 east from Exit 62, Nutley St. overpass to I-495 - Three lanes closed Monday - Thursday nights for bridge work. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.
• Nutley St. north and south to I-66 east - Ramps closed Sunday - Thursday nights for overhead sign installation. Traffic will be directed to take I-66 west to Exit 57A, Lee Jackson Memorial Hwy. (Route 50) east, stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 east.
• I-495 north and south from Lee Hwy. (Route 29) overpass to Oak St. overpass - Three right lanes closed Monday - Thursday nights for bridge demolition and painting. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight. 
• Arlington Blvd. (Route 50) west and Fairview Park Dr. to I-495 north - Ramps closed Sunday - Thursday nights for overhead sign work. Traffic will be directed to continue west to Gallows Rd. (Route 650) south and follow signs to I-495 north.
• I-495 south at Exit 54, Braddock Rd. (Route 620) - Road closed Monday - Thursday nights for steel beam erection. Traffic will be directed to take Exit 54A, Braddock Rd. (Route 620) west, make a left at the light onto Braddock Rd. (Route 620) east and follow signs to I-495 south.
• I-495 south to Exit 54B, Braddock Rd. (Route 620) east - Ramp closed Monday - Thursday nights for steel beam erection. Traffic will be directed to take Exit 54A, Braddock Rd. (Route 620) west and make a left at the signal onto Braddock Rd. (Route 620) east.
• I-495 north from Heming Ave. underpass to Exit 54, Braddock Rd. (Route 620) - Two lanes closed Sunday - Thursday nights for detector installation.
• I-495 south (Outer Loop) to Exit 57A, I-395 north - Ramp closed Sunday - Thursday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to take 57B, I-95 south to Exit 166B, Fairfax County Pkwy (Route 7100) south, stay to the right, follow signs to I-95 north and then signs to I-395.
• I-495 west/north (Inner Loop) to Exit 170B, I-395 north - Ramp closed Sunday - Thursday nights for bridge work. Prior to work zone, traffic will be directed to take Exit 170A, I-95 south to Exit 166B, Fairfax County Pkwy (Route 7100) south, stay to the right, follow signs to I-95 north and then signs to I-395.

Weekday work- Closures occur between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

• Expect single lane closures on the Inner and Outer Loops of I-495 from Springfield Interchange to beyond the Dulles Toll Rd. (Route 267) within the project area including all connecting arterials.

Ongoing work

• Twelve interchanges along the I-495 corridor from the Springfield Interchange to just north of the Dulles Toll Road are under construction until December 2012. Visit the 495 Express Lanes Interchange Fact Sheet Page.

• Richmond Hwy. (Route 1) north and south at Gunston Rd. - Multiple lanes closed Monday - Friday nights for bridge demolition. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.

Daytime work - Closures occur between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

• Richmond Hwy (Route 1) north and south at Belvoir Rd. - Single lane closed Monday - Thursday for signal work and road widening.
• Richmond Hwy (Route 1) north and south at Pohick Rd. - Single lane closed Monday - Thursday for ground and signal work.
