SoberRide Offers Free Lifts Through New Year's Day

Washington Regional Alcohol Program initiative offers rides to anyone over 21 in the greater DC area through New Year's Day.

While grandma may have gotten run over by a reindeer and lived to see another day, you might not be as lucky.

The Washington Regional Alcohol Program, or WRAP, in partnership with AT&T, is once again offering SoberRide, an initiative that offers free taxi rides with a cost of up to $30 to anyone over 21 in the greater Washington, DC area.

The rides are offered nightly from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. starting Friday through New Year’s Day.

AT&T customers can call #WRAP to get a safe, free ride home, while others can dial 800-200-8294 (TAXI).

WRAP's SoberRide provides greater DC residents a safe way home on high-risk holidays, including the December/January holiday season, St. Patrick’s Day, Independence Day and Halloween.
