Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Live Radar

See up-to-the-minute weather and radar for the Fairfax area.

The Fairfax area is under a severe thunderstorm watch through 10 p.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

“The atmosphere is juiced and storms are organizing to the west, setting the stage for a round of afternoon and evening thunderstorms, a few of which may be severe,” said the Capital Weather Gang.

Already, some areas north and west (toward Leesburg) have switched from severe thunderstorm watches to warnings. A "watch" means conditions are ripe for severe thunderstorms; a "warning" means severe thunderstorms are imminent.
