Equipment Failure Cuts Power to Over 1,000 Saturday Morning

Power expected to be back on between 8-9 a.m.

UPDATE (8:04 a.m.): Power was restored to residents at 6:40 a.m., said Le-Ja Anderson of Dominion Power. The outage was due to an equipment failure.

Dominion says about 1,179 Fairfax City customers are without power Saturday morning.

The cause is unknown at this point. Affected customers seem to live just under Main Street between Chain Bridge and Burke Station roads.

The company's power outage map claims power is expected to come back on in affected households between 8-10 a.m.
