Major Overnight Closing of Beltway, All Dulles Roads

Stay alert for traffic changes this week.

Here are the latest traffic changes and lane closings. It's going to be a bumpy week.

Dulles Toll Road to the Beltway: A new traffic pattern took effect two weeks  now the following adjustments to the lane configuration will be made to help relieve the construction related congestion:

  • The right lane of the eastbound main toll plaza will be reserved for EZ-Pass users so motorists bound for I-495 will not have to cross several lanes to access the Beltway.
  • The left lane approaching the Beltway will be extended 1,000 feet to assist motorists merging from the left side of the toll road.
  • Signs will be improved prior to the toll plaza.
  • Motorists are urged to commit early to their travel lane to reduce weaving just past the main toll plaza.

These adjustments will be phased in beginning Monday, and continue over the next few weeks.
