Get Out: Simple Bike Repair, Ramadan Tent, Live at Old Fire Station

What to do in Fairfax City Monday through Friday.

Enjoy a prixe fixe meal at The Wine House, teach your teen the secrets of starting a small business, learn simple bike repair, and hang out in a Ramadan tent this week. Keep reading for a guide to Fairfax City events this week.

MONDAY

  • Restaurant Week at The Wine House. Local-owned wine and food establishment offers a prixe fixe lunch at $20/person and 
    three-course prixe fixe Dinner $35/person as part of their participation in D.C. Restaurant Week. Offer available Monday through Sunday. Click here to see the menu. Search for other participating restaurants here.

TUESDAY

  • FCPA Farmer's Market. Fresh produce and local goods. Van Dyck Park, 8 a.m.
  • Be Your Own Boss. Teens learn how to start and run a small business with guidance from Mike Rose. Cosponsored by the Friends of the Kings Park Library. Open to ages 12-18. City of Fairfax Regional Library, 2:30 p.m. Click here to register.

WEDNESDAY

  • Pizza With Everything. Kids ages 3-5 can drop by the City of Fairfax Regional Library with an adult to enjoy stories, songs and finger plays. 2 p.m.
  • Derek Evry and Dolchnakov Brigade. Live at The Old Fire Station #3, 8:30 p.m. $5 cover. Check out Derek Evry hereClick here to hear the Brigade. 
  • Bike Maintenance for the Mechanically Un-inclined. Learn basic repairs and maintenance, like how to repair flat tires and diagnose what caused them. All materials will be provided and no experience is necessary. Presented by George Mason University Office of Sustainability. Green Acres Community Center, Room 119, 6 p.m.

THURSDAY

  • Ramadan Tent. Eat dinner and learn about the Turkish culture, courtesy of the American Turkish Friendship Association. The tent and exhibitions start Thursday and run through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. by the Courthouse Plaza Shopping Center at 3929 Old Lee Highway. Click here for more info.
  • DJ Espee in the Cellar. Auld Shebeen presents local artist, DJ Espee, in its downstairs venue starting at 10 p.m. Watch DJ Espee perform here.
