Get Out: Pool Party, Kiwanis Fundraiser

What to do in Fairfax City during the week days.

Take in a performance from local musicians, eat and drink at Dogfish Head Alehouse for a good cause, and more. Details follow in this weekday event guide:

TUESDAY

  • Council Closed Meeting. City council members will meet to discuss personnel matters and to consult with legal counsel for legal advice. City Hall, 7 p.m.
  • English Conversation Group. Learning English? Drop by to practice with others. City of Fairfax Regional Library, 7 p.m.
  • Fairfax Kiwanis Fundraiser. Chow down at the Dogfish Head Alehouse to support Meals for Young Minds Program. Dogfish Head Alehouse, 13041 Lee Jackson Memorial Hwy, all day. Mention the Kiwanis fundraiser to your waitress.

WEDNESDAY

  • Jammin' Beach Party. Kids are invited to this musical beach party with surfing, limbo, singing and dancing. Sponsored by the Friends of the George Mason Regional Library and the Friends of the City of Fairfax Regional Library. Open to all ages.   • Relay Carnival at Mosby Woods Pool. Cheer on the Raiders and other local swim teams. 5 p.m. 
  • 8 and Under Party at Fairfax Pool. Bring your family to the pool between noon and 3 p.m. to cool down and have fun. Fairfax Pool, Roberts Road

THURSDAY

  • Community Appearance Committee Meeting. Read up on the committee here. City Hall, 7 p.m.
  • City of Fairfax Band Performance. Musicians perform at the Veterans Amphitheater by City Hall as part of the Summer Concert Series. Veterans Amphitheater, 8 p.m.
  • DJ Rhythmix. Auld Shebeen hosts DJ Rhythmix in the cellar. 10 p.m.
