• FCPA Farmer's Market. Bread, pastries, fresh fruits and veggies, local goods. Hosted by Fairfax County Park Authority. Van Dyck Park, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• City Council Meeting. Check Fairfax City Patch Tuesday for a breakdown of the agenda. City Hall, 7 p.m.
• Soundgarden. Listen to the band's classics like "Spoonman" and "Black Hole Sun" at the Patriot Center, 7:30 p.m. Click here for tickets.

WEDNESDAY

• Energy Efficiency at Home Workshop. Mason Sustainability Institute offers tips on how to save on energy bills. Info on energy audits, plan reviews, and energy modeling. Green Acres, 6-7:30 p.m.

THURSDAY

• Water, Water Everywhere. Volunteers read stories, sing songs and put on finger plays for kids aged 2-3. All kids must be accompanied by an adult. Click here to get on the waiting list. Fairfax City Regional Library, 10:30 a.m.
