Firefighter Facts

A short note about your fire department and what to expect from this blog

The men and women who staff our fire trucks and ambulances work 24 hour shifts from 07:00 each morning to 07:00 the following day.  Our workforce is divided into 4 shifts.  A, B, and C shifts work 24 hours at a time.  D shift consists of our Senior Staff (Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, etc.) and the Fire Marshal’s office who typically work a standard 9-5 Monday through Friday shift.  If you have any questions about your fire department such as: How many fire trucks and ambulances are in each station?   What type of vehicles do we staff and what are they for?  Who is on these vehicles and what training do they have?  What to expect when you call 911 and any other information you would like to know feel free to contact me at craigevans013@gmail.com, or you can call or text me at 540-551-2537.  I look forward to hearing from you.  I will be writing about my experiences in the fire department, a day in the life, new medical innovations our paramedics may be using to better serve you, and anything else that comes to mind or a member of our community would like me to pontificate about.
