Fairfax High School Students Collecting Stuffed Animals for Children in Crisis

Fairfax High School DECA students are asking residents to donate new or slightly used stuffed animals to help local children going through crisis. The drive is taking place now until November 15th. Donations can be dropped off at the front offices of Fairfax High, Lanier Middle School or Daniels Run Elementary School.

The toys will be donated to local fire and police departments to assist comforting children in a crisis such as a house fire or car accident. Stuffed animals will be kept in police cruisers and fire trucks to have on hand during emergencies.

The project is sponsored by FHS DECA students. DECA prepares students for careers in marketing, finance, public relations and management in high schools and colleges around the world. Students work on projects throughout the year in a variety of areas including international business, entrepreneurship and community service.

Co-chairs of the project will discuss the project with the City of Fairfax School Board members at their regular school board meeting on Monday, November 4th at 7:30 in City Hall. The meeting will also be televised on local cable channel 12.
