CRESA WASHINGTON DC NEGOTIATES 16,421-SQUARE-FOOT HEADQUARTERS EXPANSION AND RELOCATION FOR MATTHEWS, CARTER & BOYCE IN FAIRFAX

April 21, 2014 (Fairfax, VA) – Cresa Washington DC, a corporate real estate advisory firm that exclusively represents tenants and specializes in the delivery of fully integrated services, announces today that it has negotiated on behalf of Matthews, Carter & Boyce (“MCB”), a 50-person certified public accounting firm, in a 16,421-square-foot headquarters expansion and relocation at 12500 Fair Lakes Circle in Fairfax.

In this long-term transaction, Cresa Washington DC Senior Vice President Dan Klueger represented MCB, a leading boutique certified public accounting firm founded in 1947 serving small-to-mid sized businesses and high-net worth clients. Additionally, Chilton Griffin, LEED AP, a Vice President with Cresa Washington DC’s Project Management Services, is handling the move management, phased-construction and strategic planning for MCB’s relocation.

This November, MCB plans to move from its current 11,000 square feet at 11320 Random Hills Road, also in Fairfax, to its new location at 12500 Fair Lakes Circle, a nine-building office complex owned by San Francisco-based Shorenstein Realty Services.

“Cresa helped us secured both aggressive and flexible lease terms, taking advantage of a soft Fairfax submarket and providing us with about 50 percent more space to accommodate the future expansion and growth of our firm,” says Jude J. Covas, Managing Principal of MCB. “We’re extremely pleased to be working with Cresa.”

Klueger showed his client a range of alternatives, primarily in Fairfax, but also at the Fairview Park in Falls Church. Location amounted to the main factor in MCB deciding to locate at 12500 Fair Lakes Circle, he says, noting his client’s new headquarters features more amenities, conference space and collaborative areas, as well as exterior signage.

“We’re excited to have completed this deal for Matthews, Carter & Boyce, which provided an opportunity for our client to freshen up and modernize its image through its office space, while showing the world that it is a growing accounting firm,” Klueger says.
