Victoria's Cakery Pleases with 'The Devil Made Me Do It'

This marks the 20th year the cakery has participated in the Chocolate Lovers Festival.

This weekend's most popular chocolate confection for Victoria's Cakery? "The Devil Made Me Do It," a double chocolate brownie with chocolate filling and creamy ganache frosting.

"Victoria's Ultimate" cake is another favorite in the 20 years the Main Street bakery has participated in Fairfax City's Chocolate Lovers Festival.

Chocolate lovers and cake preparers alike Katie and Lara agree that their most popular item of the weekend was their “The Devil Made Me Do It,” a double chocolate brownie with chocolate filling and creamy ganache frosting. Their “Victoria’s Ultimate” cake is also an annual favorite at the Chocolate Lover’s Festival.

“We still use the same recipes that Victoria started with back in ’84,” said Katie, a Victoria’s Cakery representative working the fair. Victoria Eustice founded Victoria’s Cakery in 1984 with the focus on keeping the taste and feel of her shop and cakes homemade.

Victoria’s son, Michael Hensley took over the business in 2004, continuing his mother’s tradition of making cakes that keep customers coming back.

Locally, cake lovers prefer a slice of “Heaven,” a white chocolate cake with raspberry filling and white chocolate cream cheese frosting.

“That’s what we’re known for, our customers really love that cake," Lara Huzzard, a Victoria’s Foster said while working the festival.

The Chocolate Festival is the only special event that they participate in outside of the hectic day-to-day tasks of running a bakery.

Also known for their wedding cakes, Victoria’s also offers a wide arrange of treats including truffles, scones and peanut butter cups.
