Chuy's Tex-Mex Opening in Fairfax

Elvis shrine, hub-capped ceilings, unlimited Happy Hour nachos included with new restaurant.

Fairfax will welcome a new Tex-Mex restaurant, when Austin-based Chuy's opens on Lee Highway.

Chuy's will be at 11219 Lee Highway, near the Wal-Mart store. The company expects to open the restaurant in August. The hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every Friday and Saturday. Happy Hours will include an unlimited build-your-own nachos station.

The menu includes homemade sauces, authentic recipe-based food from southern Texas, New Mexico and towns near the border in Mexico. The restaurant's style is "fun and quirky," according to the company.

Also, "Diners can expect a vibrant atmosphere complete with an Elvis Shrine, the La Chihuahua Bar featuring framed pictures of local dogs, a "school" of hand-carved wooden fish, metal palm trees and a hubcap-covered ceiling," a press release notes.

Every Chuy's restaurant features an Elvis shrine.
