The new Fairfax location opens Thursday morning, and the first 100 customers win a free meal a week for a year.

At least 200 people gathered outside of the new Chick-fil-A location on Fair Knoll Drive in Fairfax at 6 a.m. Wednesday—a full 24 hours before the store's grand opening.

Why? Two words: Free. Food.

That's right - the company's First 100 program offers the first 100 customers of any new location a free Chick-fil-A meal per week for an entire year.

Patrons arrived at the crack of dawn with tents, chairs and other provisions to get them through the day-long wait, Chick-fil-A staff said.

Because more than 200 people were in line 24 hours in advance of the opening, a drawing was held to decide which 100 people would get to stay in line for the opening and receive the meals.

To help pass the time until Thursday's grand opening, the 100 winning patrons will have access to the Chick-fil-A bathrooms and food as well as security and live music.
