Plenty of shows to sate your holiday music needs in Fairfax City this weekend. Here's a list of performances. Did I miss something? Add your event in the comments or email whitney@patch.com.

FRIDAY

  • Bingo: City of Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department offers bingo every Friday night at Fire Station No. 3. Starts at 7:15 p.m.
  • Messiah Sing-Along: Join the Truro Parish Choir, director Michael Mentzel, the church's chamber orchestra and organ in singing in the holiday season. Non-singers also welcome. Donate money to benefit Crosslink International. Truro Church, 7:30 p.m. More info here.
  • U.S. Navy Band County Current: Part of the Bonita Lestine Performance series. Listen to Navy’s premiere country-bluegrass ensemble. Old Town Hall, 8 p.m.
  • Holiday Pops: 60 local musicians make up the American Festival Pops Orchestra. Hear them live at George Mason University's Center for the Arts. There will be a pre-performance discussion. Music starts at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $23+.
  • Mason Dancers: Enjoy GMU's Mason Dance Company Winter Concert. Center for the Arts, 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $7 for students.
  • Yoko Says No: Live performance in the Auld Shebeen cellar. Click here to preview the band.
  • Chute: Live performance at The Old Fire Station No. 3. Click here to preview the band. Doors open at 8 p.m. Show is for all ages.
  • Wonderful Life: The Hub Theatre presents this take on the classic "It's a Wonderful Life." for more info. Tickets cost $25. Show starts at 8 p.m. on Friday and runs until Dec. 27.

SATURDAY

  • Fall Food Drive: Donate toys, food and more to Our Daily Bread every Saturday until December 10. Drop off items at 10376 Willard Way, in the Courthouse Plaza (next to Safeway). Donations accepted 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Sounds of the Season: The Main Street Community Band performs live at Woodson High School. Though the event is free, tickets are required. Don't have a ticket? Drop by at 2:45 p.m. for a chance to claim a seat. Bring a non-perishable food item for Food for Others. Woodson HS, 3 p.m.
  • WMZQ Winterfest: Enjoy live performances from Rodney Atkins, Kellie Pickler, Thompson Square, David Nail, Josh Thompson, Kip Moore and Sonia Leigh at the Patriot Center. Show starts at 5:30 p.m. Tickets cost $30+.
  • George Winston: Pianist George Winston puts on a Holiday Show for “rural folk piano" fans. Center for the Arts, 8 p.m. Tickets start at $24.
  • Ayreheart: Live performance at Epicure Cafe. Click here to preview the performer. Show starts at 8 p.m.

SUNDAY

  • Banjo in the Civil War: Greg Adams, historian and musicologist, talks about the use of the banjo during the Civil War as part of the Second Sunday Museum Program held at the Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center. Talk starts at 2 p.m.
