Cabaret and Comedy Event in Fairfax City, Tickets Available

Presented by Fairfax Spotlight on the Arts and George Mason's School of Theater.

Provided, Friends of Theater at Mason:

The partnership between George Mason University and the City of Fairfax continues to thrive, with each partner contributing unique talents and resources, creating together synergy, innovation … and magic.

On the evening of Saturday, May 3, you have an opportunity to experience that magic when Fairfax Spotlight on the Arts and George Mason’s School of Theater present: Spotlight on Cabaret and Comedy.

The evening begins at seven in downtown historic Fairfax City at Old Town Hall, with a champagne reception celebrating the 29th Annual Spotlight on the Arts Festival and recognizing the Festival’s 2014 Honorary Chairman, William F. Reeder, Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts at George Mason University.

Following the reception, you are invited to enjoy an evening of improvisational comedy and a cabaret of show tunes featuring the Mason Cabaret and the Mason Improv Association. The evening concludes with dessert, wine, coffee and a chance for you to win tickets to theater performances in the area.

Tickets to this event that are sold through Friends of Theater at Mason will support Mason’s musical theater program. In addition, each year Fairfax Spotlight on the Arts awards five scholarships to outstanding students selected to attend, or who are attending, the College of Visual and Performing Arts at George Mason University. To date, more than 70 students have received Spotlight scholarships.

Tickets are $35 per person and include the receptions, improv, and cabaret. Free parking is available. For more information and to purchase tickets, call Kathryn Hansen at George Mason University at 703-993-4749, or email Friends of Theater at Mason at fotm@gmu.edu.
